Island Quilters Guild - We entered the fairs!! 2026

Thanks to Rolanda T. and Melissa M., we have some great photos of what our members entered into the Providence Bay fall fair and the Manitowaning fall fair in 2026.  Unfortunately, you will see a few without the quilter's name because the tags couldn't be read, but edits will be made if the names are submitted!  NOTE:  to see the beauty in these, take some time and magnify the image to see some of the piecing and quilting!  You may have questions of the makers at the meetings of the Island Quilters Guild - the third Thursday of the month between September and June.  Location: Mindemoya Community Hall 7:00 pm

Myra Tallman won grand champion with this hand quilted quilt - Congratulations!

Pat Pepper showed her piecing and hand quilting expertise in the reserve grand champion.
Dena Barnes - machine quilting champion

3 quilts showing the possibilities of making quilts when you begin with a panel - the first, Dena Barns added plain and pieced borders for her Christmas deer.  The second, another Christmas quilt, shows plain borders as well as piano key borders and a wide border of white with pieced small blocks.  The third is one by Rolanda Tovey featuring a colourful cat with borders made of the same fabric line.  These are only a few of the possibilities with borders!
