December 2019 - Festive Dinner Meeting & Sew Day

In December our guild meets for a dinner and meeting.  At this meeting we also raise money for Manitoulin Family Resources (food bank activities).  We bring gifts and then buy coupons to put in the bags close to the gifts we would like to take home!  This year we wrote a cheque for $750 to give to this group - and many of us enjoyed 'winning' gifts to take home.
Sally's famous basket of baking!

Pat C. and Dianne R. did a great job organizing and giving away our gifts

And then on Saturday, we had our last Sew Day of 2019 at the Spring Bay Community Hall.  Can you match the member with the project?  Here are the projects:  a Christmas tree table runner, mugrugs, a paper pieced project designed by the quilter, the 52 blocks sponsored by CQA/ACC, a wedding quilt, some Christmas decorations, another wedding quilt.  Not shown was a quilter working on gift totes and placemats.

November 2019 - Island Quilters Guild Show and Tell

November's Show 'n Tell did not disappoint!  We loved the quilted objects that were shown and were inspired by them.

Kathy made a table runner from the October B.O.M.

Cathy J. showed us her completed Christmas stocking - a crazy quilt of fabrics!

This will be a fire quilt now that it has been bound!

Freda showed a creative set of quilted placemats.

Judy B. designed a quilt to go with a panel.

Freda showed this 'cardinal' table runner - a great pattern for this print.

Another panel quilt design by Judy B.

Lauren made a block from the October B.O.M.

Rolanda's quilt looks 3D - uses graduated fabric.

Sally W.'s granddaughter is the lucky recipient of this quilt (and she appreciates them).

Myrna made this disappearing nine-patch quilt as a gift.

Pat M.'s husband liked this pattern, so she made it!
Lauren made this quilt for a new baby.

Sally made this for a friend.
