Island Quilters Guild - 2023 Library Update

Brenda Pakkala has been doing a great job in our guild library over the past few years!!  Upon our members' requests, she has bought specialty rulers and new books which have added so much variety to our collection!  Some of the new rulers have been donated to the guild library by members as well.  This list of rulers will be updated after the next meeting, but here are some of what you may borrow:

  • a 'Flip 'n Set' ruler that helps you cut setting triangle blocks and saves a lot of fabric very efficiently
  • a V block ruler (called Corner Beam now) by Tucker Studio - used in the latest Cindy Bee quilt series
  • block lock rulers
  • hexagon shape rulers

Do you remember that Brenda also bought a rotary blade sharpener for the guild that is available at every meeting for you to use?

Brenda arranged for a group of us to work during the afternoon before the April meeting to update our library.  Judy Black, Pat Chaput, Lauren MacDonald and Rolanda Tovey came to help Brenda.  Brenda had printed out the library list, so we took one shelf at a time and checked off the books, then added the names of the books added since our last list.

Rolanda brought her computer and worked from our lists to add books, but then took the papers home and completed that task at home.  We didn't quite finish updating the list but we only have about an hour's more work to do on it.  Thanks to all the volunteers!
